For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. - Habakkuk 2:14
Current studies estimate that the world population is roughly 7.5 billion people alive on our planet. That seems like a lot of people, but the world is far from full! Researchers estimate there are only about 38 people per square mile of land. The world can seem crowded, but there’s still a lot of empty space out there! According to the prophet Habakkuk, God wants to fill that space with His glory!
“For the earth will be filled…”
God stated that the knowledge of His glory would envelop the earth like the waters cover the sea.
How does water cover the sea?
Water is the very essence of what the sea is. According to this prophecy from Habakkuk, the knowledge of God’s glory will be equally extensive! The entire earth will be filled with the knowledge of God’s glory. The world will consist of the knowledge of God’s glory. The essence of God’s creation will exist and function through understanding God’s glory!
“Filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD…”
In the end, the knowledge of God’s glory will fill the entire world. Those who live at that time will know the truth about God’s glory no matter where they are. Doubt will be impossible. Refuting or arguing against it will be impossible as well. The nonsense the world tries to concoct to disprove or redefine God will be utterly destroyed when Jesus comes again.
The world can sometimes seem crowded. The current population density is nothing compared to how full the world will be with the knowledge of God’s glory manifested through Jesus’ 2nd Coming. When we consider the number of people and the space in our world, God’s glory is truly transcendent! If God’s glory can fill and satisfy the world at that time, He is more than sufficient to fill and satisfy us right now.
Prayer for today
Our heavenly Father, we are excited to know that there is so much more to learn about You. There is more goodness. There is more righteousness. There is more glory and greatness. This means there are more blessings for us as we are saturated in the knowledge of these things for all eternity! Help us to value the knowledge of Your glory more than anything else. Nothing can fill and satisfy the world like You do. We pray for these things in the glory of Jesus’ name. Amen.
